David Terpstra
Assistant Coach

David Terpstra brings nearly 20 years of coaching experience to Whitefish Bay’s football program, and has been with the team since 2014.

A graduate and former player for Lakeland College from 1990-1994, David started his coaching career in 1996 as a volunteer offensive line coach for Coach Greg Lehman at Washington High School. He moved on to Milwaukee Madison High School in 2002 where he coached the defensive line through the 2009 season, and became Head Coach in 2010.

Terpstra joined Whitefish Bay’s freshmen team as a defensive coordinator in 2012, and in 2013 became defensive line coach for the Varsity and and the defensive line coordinator for the JV.

David prides himself, not only consistently on treating all of his players with respect, but in encouraging fair play at all times.

How does he motivate them? With one, age-old observation from Mark Twain:

“It’s not the size of the dog in the fight. It’s the size of the fight in the dog.”
