Owen Cooper
Assistant Coach

Owen Cooper brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the Dukes Varsity, and is proud to be apart of this staff at Whitefish Bay High School as they continue to develop great young individuals on and off the field.

At 6′ 5,” Cooper towered over the line as quarterback for the Johnston High School Dragons in Johnston, IA, and also played wide receiver. In addition to football, Owen played basketball and ran track over his high school career.

Cooper’s high school experience and all around athleticism prepared him for NJCAA Division I play at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, IA where he was recognized as a 1st team Academic All Region XI athlete and helped the team to win their first bowl game in the school’s history.

After Iowa Western, Owen attended the University of Iowa where graduated and worked with the football program as a student assistant in the video department until Hawkeyes Tight End Coach Coach LeVar Woods brought him on to help coach the team’s tight ends. His assistance helped the Hawkeyes reach the Outback Bowl (2014), Taxslayer Bowl (2015) and the Rose Bowl in 2016.

For the Dukes Varsity to win a North Shore Conference title, Owen knows that they’ll have to adopt the mindset of famed San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice:

“Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t.”
