Highlanders Smash Dukes
- Updated: October 3, 2022
The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes were smashed by the Homestead Highlanders Friday night, 40-3, to drop their third straight game. The Blue Dukes are now 2-5 (1-4) on the year with two games to go as they fight to make their way into the playoffs.
Homestead jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after returning the opening kickoff to the Blue Dukes 17-yard line. The Dukes looked prime to even the score after Ben Volpe ran a QB keep on their first play from scrimmage to the Homestead 9 for a 71-yard gain, but they had to settle for a field goal to make it 7-3.
It was all Homestead the rest of the game, who benefitted from great starting field position all night.
