Dukes Blow Through West Bend West 42-6
- Updated: September 2, 2019
The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes improved their season record to 2-0 by delivering a bone crushing 42-6 loss to the West Bend West Spartans on Aug. 30, 2019.
QB Jayden Jackson led the Dukes offense with unforgiving speed and precision on West Bend’s home turf, passing for 81 yards and driving through the Spartans’ D for an impressive 172 total yards rushing. Jackson connected twice with WR Jack Stecker for a pair of touchdowns, and handed off to “go-to” RB Drew Garcia who ran in two TDs, tallying 75 yards rushing for the night.
If ever there was an example of a swiss army knife player, RB/DB/K Michael Kaufman provided a working definition on Friday night. His agility and dexterity were on display throughout the game, as he drove through West’s porous line on short runs for a pair of TDs, which he iced only minutes later with flawless extra point kicks. Kaufman had 16 yds rushing on the night and 6 points on extra point kicks.
The Dukes D must have seemed like an impenetrable blue wall to QB Landon Dott and the Spartans’ offense. That wall held West Bend to 192 total offensive yards with OL/DL Israel Blunt recording a sack and RB/LB Nick Jordnt picking off a pass midway through the 4th quarter.
