The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes Varsity football team started its 2017 season with a roar in a convincing 35-7 win over the Slinger Owls.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s “most prolific quarterback-receiver tandem” of QB Cade Garcia and WR/DB Alex Anthony certainly lived up to their new found reputation. Garcia threw for 178 yards, connecting to Anthony 7 times for 132 yards.
Senior RB/DB Bo Bassindale dominated the Owls on the ground with 128 yards on 18 carries, and 3 touchdowns. Icing on his cake? A 28 yard reception.
Both Anthony and Bassindale were named as standout players for opening weekend by Lake Country Now.
The Dukes travel north on Aug. 25, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. to face to Port Washington.
