The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes moved to 2-0 on the year with the help of a dominate defensive showing against the Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings, winning 30-0. For the second consecutive game the Dukes D kept their opponent out of the endzone which has helped Bay outscore opponents 77-0 to begin the season.

The Dukes scored on their second possession to go up 7-0 with 5:43 left in the opening quarter when QB Chase Wolter hit junior receiver Marcus Webb deep down the sideline for a 33-yard touchdown reception. They would push their lead to 14 right before the quarter ended as Wolter would then find Mace Miskel in the endzone from 2-yards out for the freshman’s second receiving touchdown in as many games. Wolter threw for 91 yards on the night with 6 completions out of 11 attempts.

A 32-yard field from senior kicker David Kleiner made it 17-0 with 8:30 left in the first half and there was no looking back going into the intermission.

After a scoreless third quarter, senior running back Harry Bortolotti plunged into the endzone from the 2-yard line. An unsuccessful two-point conversion attempt left the score 23-0. Bortolotti toted the rock 27 times to the tune of 123 yards on the ground.

The scoring would wrap up on the ensuing kickoff when the Vikings fumbled an attempted reverse. The loose ball wound up in the endzone where Tosin Kolawole would fall on it for a 30-0 final score.

The disciplined Blue Dukes Defense held the Vikings’ veer-option ground game to a measly 62 yards on 27 attempts. They had even less success in the air, completing 6 of 17 passes for 31 yards. Junior cornerback Reggie Hart collected his first interception and Bortolotti forced a fumble from his safety position to win the turnover battle. Senior defensive lineman Joseph Lee and Kolawole each led the way with 7 total tackles.
