Dukes Roll Over Nicolet 35-0
- Updated: October 1, 2017
The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes continued their undefeated record on Thursday by shutting out the Nicolet Knights 35-0.
Fresh on the heels of a JSOnline article praising their natural synchronicity, QB Cade Garcia and WR/DB Alex Anthony lived up to their reputation. Garcia connected with Anthony for three touchdowns, throwing for 212 total yards. He also found WR/DB Maurice David Lee III open in the 1st quarter for a 58 yard TD. Lee had 72 total yards against the Knights on only 2 receptions.
On the ground, Garcia handed off to RB/LB Patrick Nau 13 times for 85 yards total rushing and one touchdown. RB/DB Bo Bassindale, coming off a twisted ankle, added 34 yards to Dukes ground game on 4 carries. And, as in previous games, P/K Zach Lichosik was flawless, putting 5 extra points through the uprights.
Defensively, Bay stymied every attempt by the Knights to move the ball up the field, recording four sacks on QB Carson Trimborn. All told, the D held Nicolet to 82 yards passing and 65 yards rushing.
Next Up: The Dukes face Cedarburg (1-6) at Lubar Stadium on Oct. 6, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
