Dukes Trounce Grafton 46-14
- Updated: September 10, 2017
The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes continued their domination of the North Shore Conference with a blistering 46-14 road win over the Grafton Blackhawks on Friday night.
The Blackhawks defense was little match for QB Cade Garcia and the Dukes offense, who dominated Grafton in the air and on the run. Garcia through 4 touchdowns for 223 total yards, and rushed for 80 yards, which included an incredible 75 yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
Garcia connected with his favorite target WR Alex Anthony three times for 79 yards, but it was his touchdown passes to WR/LB Tommy Brunner, WR/DB Case Fleck and WB/DL Brady Weas that put points on the board. Brunner caught a pair of TDs, and punctuated RB/LB Drew Garcia’s late third quarter touchdown run with a beautiful 2-point-conversion catch.
The Dukes rushing game was nothing short of ferocious with RB/LBs Patrick Nau and Drew Garcia racking up 208 total yards. Nau had 101 total yards on the night, falling only 6 short of Garcia’s 107.
Leads always have to be defended and the Dukes defense must have felt like an impenetrable wall to the Blackhawks. The D held Grafton to 70 total yards on the run, frustrating their ground game to only 2.3 yards a carry.
